Vertex Mission Critical Solutions is looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join its data centre engineering team in Mumbai.

The successful candidate will lead the electrical design and technical coordination of hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise data centre projects. The role covers concept design, detailed engineering, construction support, testing, and commissioning.

This is a full-time onsite position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of electrical design experience.
• At least 4 years of direct experience in data centre or mission-critical projects.
• Strong knowledge of Tier III and Tier IV electrical architecture.
• Practical experience with N, N+1, and 2N redundancy configurations.
• Strong understanding of IEC, IEEE, NEC, NFPA 70E, and applicable local standards.
• Professional proficiency in English.
• Experience leading engineers and BIM designers.

• Can independently lead electrical design packages.
• Has strong applied experience in ETAP, Revit MEP, EPLAN, and DIALux.
• Can develop resilient power distribution strategies.
• Can communicate clearly with clients, consultants, vendors, and construction teams.
• Can manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Can review technical submissions and resolve multidisciplinary design issues.
• Can mentor junior engineers.

Tasks

• Develop electrical basis-of-design documents and design criteria.
• Prepare single-line diagrams and electrical distribution philosophies.
• Design HV, MV, and LV systems.
• Design transformer, generator, UPS, switchgear, busway, and PDU systems.
• Perform load flow, short-circuit, arc-flash, harmonic, and protection coordination studies using ETAP.
• Prepare panel schematics and control diagrams using EPLAN.
• Coordinate electrical BIM models using Revit MEP and Navisworks.
• Design normal and emergency lighting systems using DIALux.
• Coordinate BMS and EPMS integration.
• Review vendor drawings and technical submissions.
• Lead client meetings and multidisciplinary design reviews.
• Support FAT, SAT, integrated systems testing, and commissioning.
• Manage deliverables across multiple projects.
