Gulf Critical Cooling Systems is looking for a Junior Mechanical Engineer to support the design and delivery of HVAC systems for data centres and mission-critical facilities in Dubai.

This role is suitable for an early-career engineer with strong mechanical fundamentals and some practical exposure to HVAC design. The engineer will work under the guidance of senior specialists and contribute to calculations, drawings, equipment selection, and technical coordination.

This is a full-time onsite position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of HVAC design experience.
• Exposure to data centre, industrial, healthcare, or other critical facilities is preferred.
• Understanding of chilled-water systems and cooling-load calculations.
• Knowledge of ASHRAE standards.
• Proficiency in English.
• Ability to prepare clear technical documentation.

• Can learn data centre cooling requirements quickly.

• Can manage assigned tasks within agreed deadlines.

Tasks

• Assist with HVAC load calculations.
• Prepare cooling-load summaries and equipment schedules.
• Support the design of chilled-water distribution systems.
• Assist with the selection of chillers, pumps, cooling towers, CRAH units, CRAC units, and air-handling equipment.
• Prepare mechanical layouts and schematics using AutoCAD.
• Support Revit modelling where required.
• Prepare psychrometric calculations.
• Review plant-room layouts and maintenance clearances.
• Coordinate mechanical systems with electrical, structural, architectural, fire, and BMS teams.
• Assist with technical specifications and equipment schedules.
• Review vendor submissions under senior supervision.
• Support site inspections and testing activities.
• Learn and apply data centre cooling, redundancy, and resilience requirements.
